Your insurance company can be billed by our staff as a courtesy to our patients. There are two types of insurance for your eye care: Routine eye exams and Medical eye exams. Your routine benefits will usually cover either exam and glasses, or exam and contacts, very rarely do we find a company that pays for both. In some cases, routine coverage will only cover your exam. In an effort to provide our patients with the best service possible, we inquire with your insurance company to establish what type of benefit you may have before your appointment time. Even though we call for these benefits in advance, your insurance company does not guarantee the benefits that they quote to us over the phone. This means we can only estimate the difference between what you will pay for your exam and materials and what your insurance pays. If there is a difference, we will bill you after we hear from your insurance company. This is the ONLY time that we authorize billing patients. All other charges are expected to be paid in full at the time services are provided or when materials are ORDERED. If you do not see your insurance provider name, call our office to see if we have recently added them to our provider list. |
